How far do you want to go?

Boys and girls have different emotional needs at each stage of their life. Emotionally, girls grow up more quickly than boys therefore some girls become interested in older boys or men and as a consequence are under pressure to have sex earlier.

Today magazines, television and peer pressure suggest that there is only one way for relationships to grow and that's to have sex.

It is up to the individual person to decide how far to go and when to stop. Some people have strong religious, cultural and personal beliefs about sex before marriage and should not be frightened to express their views.

You can have a loving relationship without sex. The important thing is to be sure of what you want and make your own decisions about what is right for you, especially if the other person’s motives are different.

If you don’t know what you want, be assertive. You have a right to make up your own mind without being pressurised.
