Emergency Contraception

If you have had unprotected sex or your contraception has failed during sex you are at risk of pregnancy. Emergency contraception can be taken up to 72 hours after sex. However, it works better the sooner you take it.

You can get emergency contraception from family planning , young people clinics and some Minor Injuries Units, however we run a scheme where pharmacists across Kent can give you emergency contraception free of charge if you are under 20, see below for pharmacies on our list.

Dover Minor Injuries Unit

Buckland Hospital,
Coombe Valley Road,
Kent,
Dover,
CT17 0HD

8am - 8pm every day (not open on some bank holidays)

Please note: It is the pharmacist who is in the scheme and therefore it may be best to contact the pharmacy to check he/she is on duty before you go there.
